Honoring Mom
One of the things my mom used to always tell us was "you can't take it with you when you go."
If you've read "Laura's Story" at the beginning of my book: Eliminate Chaos...The 10-Step Process to Organize Your Home & Life, you will understand the significance of these nine words. At the age of 16, I helped clean out my mom's home and prepare it for an estate sale....little did I know that 16 years later, I would be using these skills with our clients to help them through some of the most difficult times they experience.
There are so many different reasons why someone might need to get organized or hire a Professional Organizer. Little did I know that just a year after my mom's death, an Organizing Industry would be born in 1985. Today, there are over 4000 Professional Organizers around the world that are members of NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers). One of these reasons is called "life," or in this case "death." Life throws everyone curve balls when you least expect them and sometimes you just need help to get through the tough times. Dealing with years of accumulation can be overwhelming, not to mention stressful. Couple that with arguments about what is going to happen to all of the "stuff" and sometimes families need a un-biased professional to work with them through these times.
